Overview

iSpeak is a live translation app that supports over 90 languages, including custom Hmong speech recognition and text-to-speech. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Information We Collect

iSpeak does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• Audio/Microphone: iSpeak uses your device's microphone for real-time speech recognition. For most languages, audio is processed on your device using the built-in speech recognition engine. For Hmong speech recognition, audio is sent to our secure server for processing and is discarded immediately after transcription — no audio recordings are stored.
• Translation Text: Text is sent to Google Translate for translation purposes only. No personal identifiers are included in these requests.
• Text-to-Speech: For Hmong text-to-speech, text is sent to our secure server to generate audio. The text is not stored after processing. For all other languages, text-to-speech is handled on your device.
• Translation History: Your translation history is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted externally.

Permissions

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required for speech-to-text functionality. Used only when you press the microphone button.
• Internet: Required to send text to the translation service and receive translations, and to access Hmong speech services.

Third-Party Services

• Google Translate: Used to provide text translations. Google's privacy policy applies to translation requests.
• Silver, Inc. Hmong Services: Our own servers provide Hmong speech recognition and text-to-speech. No user data is stored or logged.

Data Storage

All app data (translation history, language preferences) is stored locally on your device. Our servers process Hmong speech requests in real time but do not store any user data.

Children's Privacy

iSpeak is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
